The Board of Directors of IRL comprises of the following
individuals:
Board Members, Senior Management, Project Managers & Advisors: Mr. Shamsi, who is one of the sponsors of the project, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Arlington, USA. He has over 25 years of management and consulting experience in investment, manufacturing, trading, real estate development and other industries. From the inception of the IRL, he was holding both the positions of Chairman and the CEO of the company. As CEO of Indus Refinery Limited, right from the formation of the company, he was actively involved in all aspects of the company’s development, which included land acquisition, contract negotiations, shareholders stake, all dealings with the government, in respect of the project and managing the affairs of the company with all suppliers, service providers & logistic supports. He also dealt with all financial institutions during this period. As Chairman of the Board of Directors, he continues to actively engage in following up the project activities on daily basis and is playing a guiding role in all affairs of the company towards its final objective of successful completion of the project. Mr. Shamsi is also Director of the a Trading House, namely Tabbar Trading Company LLC, Dubai, which deals in supply of commodities, electronics, automobiles and tractors spare parts. The Company has an annual turn-over of US$ 120 million. He is the Founder Director / Chairman of Tameerat-Construction and Real Estate Marketing Company, Dubai www.tameerat.com. The company is currently constructing a Twin Tower Complex of 31 Floors, each by the name of “Al-Hambra 1 & Al-Hambra 2, in Emirate City, Ajman and one 30 storey Tower in Al-Hunaid City, Ajman. The estimated cost of these Projects is expected to be UAE Dirham 600 million. Mr. Shamsi is also the Chairman of Indus Refinery Products Limited-a Pipeline and Marketing Company, Samad Enterprises (Private) Limited-a Trading Company and Indus Property Developers (Private) Limited-a Construction Company, all in Pakistan, who have signed a joint venture with well renowned construction company, M/s. Saima Construction, to build seven 19 storey each residential towers, to be constructed in the vicinity of Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi. Mr. Simon R. May, BSCE, MICE – Vice President
Operations Mr. May’s primary objective is to maximize the company’s profitability through operational efficiency. Meeting the objective will require a combination of technical expertise, personnel management, resource management, logistics and an ongoing commitment to health, safety and environmental protection. He has a proven record of possessing all these skills. Mr. Neil McLaughlin P.Eng - OSBL Project Manager Mr. Neil has vast experience as a Senior Management Executive in Operations, Project Management, Engineering Consulting, Strategic Planning Construction Management, Sales and Marketing Business Development, Estimating, Cost Control, and Forecasting. Petrochemical, chemicals and industrial experience He acquired Industrial experience in Petrochemical and Chemical in the UK, Middle East, Canada, and the Far East. Mr. Malcolm Wright – Deputy Project Manager
ISBL Mr. Wright has worked with Metals Services for Trade & Contracting Company – Saudi Arabia for 10 years as Operations Manager, directly responsible to the General Manager of a pipeline construction company, based in Al Khobar. His clients included Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), ABV Rock Group KB, SCECO, Arabian Petrochemical Company and Saudi SNC-Lavalin.
Mr. Trevor Johnson – Deputy Project Manager
OSBL Mr. Johnson has worked with a number of reputable organizations spreading over a period of more than 40 years, including: Neocrest Engineering Company Ltd., United Kingdom, Metals Services Company, Saudi Arabia, Al Ahlia Electromechanical Company, Abu Dhabi, Ewbank Preece, United Kingdom, Project Engineering Services B.V., Holland, ICI Plastics Division, United Kingdom and John Mowlem Limited, United Kingdom. Mr. Richard Stockton – Project Manager ISBL Mr. Richard Stockton has been working for IRL as Project Manager and is stationed at Ventech Engineers Offices in Houston, Texas, USA to oversee project execution. Ventech Engineers are the ISBL Contractors for IRL project. Mr. Richard Stockton is the Vice President of Ventech Engineers International Corporation. He has worked for more than 19 years in different positions in Ventech, such as Project Director, Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer/Design Manager. Education & Experience He studied Mechanical Engineering at Texas A & M University and obtained Management Certificates from various Management Seminars and Courses. His continued Technical Training in encompasses various equipment design courses, including welding, corrosion, weldability and various specific mechanical equipment design course. He has been a member of ASME, and obtained certificates from ASME Plant Safety Seminars. He has served on the boards of various Contractor Safety Councils and completed ISO 9001 Training Seminars His Project Management Experience includes full Conversion Refinery Relocation Project, Refinery EPC Projects in the USA, Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, Nigeria , India and Indonesia. Mr. Mahmood Ahmad – Chief Technical Advisor Mr. Ahmad holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. He has wide experience in various areas of petroleum refining, including: operations, technical services, engineering, maintenance and construction. Mr. Ahmad has been associated with the Petroleum Industry of Pakistan for the past 36 years. He started his career with Caltex Oil (Pak) Ltd. and later joined National Refinery Limited (NRL) when its construction was about to start. He was sent to USA for extensive training in American Oil Company (AMCO) Refineries. He remained associated with NRL for nearly 33 years and played a pivotal role in various expansion projects of the Refinery, including: the expansion of NRL from a Lube Refinery in 1966 to Fuel Refinery (1977), the addition of a BTX Unit (1979) and addition of the company’s second Lube Unit (1985). In NRL, he rose from the position of Unit Engineer to that of Managing Director and Chairman of State Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (PERAC) of Government of Pakistan. Mr. Ahmad served as a Director on the Boards of many companies engaged in different sectors of oil and gas business in Pakistan, such as, Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, National Tanker Company, Iran-Pak Refinery, National Crescent Petroleum Limited, Enar Petrotech Services, Pak-Hy Oils Limited, National Petrocarbon Limited, NRL and PERAC. He was also the Chairman of the Petroleum Sectional Committee, Pakistan Standards Institution, which is constituted by the Government of Pakistan and is responsible for setting standards / specifications for all petroleum & petrochemical products, used in Pakistan. Mr. Randall Trembly – Senior Technical
Advisor Prior to joining Crown Central, Mr. Trembly was a Second Vice President and Chemical Engineer for Continental National Bank and Trust Company, one of the Midwest’s largest and most profitable banking institutions. His major responsibilities included: assessing refining projects for the bank’s credit committee, refinery cash flow analysis, capital budgeting, refining market analysis and relationship management. Mr. Trembly worked on ongoing basis with over twenty refinery clients. One of his major accounts was Crown Central Petroleum and it was through this relationship that he was later recruited to join Crown Central. Mr. Trembly started his career with Universal Oil Products, better known as UOP, one of the world’s leading process engineering and manufacturing companies. Most of his tenure with UOP was spent with new refinery start ups, including grass roots refineries in South Africa, Ecuador, Iran, Bolivia and Colombia.
