Indus Refinery Limited (IRL) is the first deep conversion refinery of Pakistan, being set-up in the country. It will be state-of-the-art refinery, introducing some of the latest technologies for the first time in Pakistan. It will be the country’s largest refinery in the private sector.

IRL was registered in 2004 as a Pakistan Public Limited Liability Company, whose founding shareholders are foreign investors and Pakistani investors. The Board of Directors is made up of oil and gas industry, business and finance professionals

The authorized share capital is Rs. 6,000,000,000 divided into 600,000,000 ordinary shares of Rs. 10 per share. The initial funding is being provided by the share holders of IRL.

Refining Capacity:

IRL is a 93,000 BPSD or 4.5 million metric tons per annum fuel refinery complex. It will be the sixth petroleum refinery in Pakistan. As a result of its latest production technologies and economies of scale, IRL will have a competitive edge over existing refineries of the country.

IRL’s refinery site is located near Port Qasim on the Main National Highway, approximately 21 kilometers from FOTCO Oil Jetty. The site is strategically located near the PARCO White Oil Pipeline Terminal, PSO’s Zulfiqarabad Pipri Oil Terminal (ZOT) and PSO’s Marshalling Yard.
